- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar or Sugar Alternative
- 1 Tablespoons Almond Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
Instructions:
• Prepare the Apples
Peel and dice the apples. Toss with sugar, flour, cinnamon, vanilla and lemon juice and set aside in the fridge for 20 minutes.
• Prep the Pie
Roll out your chilled dough on a floured surface. Crimp the sides of dough with knuckle and pinch with forefinger and thumb. Place the apple mixture into the dough and sprinkle leftover juices over the mixture.
• Make the Crust
Roll out the second disk of pie crust dough and cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Start placing them on top of the pie, creating a lattice design making sure to crimp together the edges.
• Bake and Enjoy
Brush the top with egg wash and sugar if desired. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes uncovered at 400 degrees. Then cover the pie with foil and continue baking for 30 minutes at 375 degrees.
